- jnharleyExplorerThe sites at Kentucky Horse Park are perpendicular to the road. No angle for the back in. We found it impossible to park without driving on the grass and so must a bunch of other people because the sites were lined with ruts. All in all though, we would stay there again.
- A_hitch_and_hopExplorerIf you could spare a day, why not go 16 miles s/e and stay at Boonsboro SP. It is a quiet park and they have a very nice reconstructed fort with a museum. Check it out on the link

We like it real well and like others said, Kentucky Horse Park Campgrounds is nice. It has water/electric and dump station, also 50 amp. Good Luck and Happy Camping. Renfro Valley is also Passport.
- Jim_ShoeExplorerI've been to the Ky. Horse Park several times, although I've never camped there. I live in a suburb of Cincinnati, so I drive down in my car. Kentucky is, after all, the home of beautiful horses and fast women. (I may have that backwards). The whole area is peppered with horse farms, and some are open to the public for tours. I'd be proud to call some of those barns my home.
- ccpesoExplorerWe pulled into Whispering Hills campground last night. It is off Exit 129 on I75. It is about 3 miles off the interstate but not hard to find. When we got here and they showed us to our site and told us the water pressure was 70lb plus and ask if we had a pressure re-stricter (which we do). The campground is very nice, clean and the bathrooms are the best I've seen. Each is a single room with shower, chair, sink and toilet. This will be a part of every trip home from Florida. It is 5hrs from my home in MI. Just a side note, if you want beer or wine, stop and get it before as this is a dry area.
- Parrothead_MikeExplorerI'll second (or third, fourth, or fifth it too) KY Horse Park Campground. We've stayed there several times while visiting the Lexington area. Clean and well taken care of.
Last fall we were hoping to stay at the horse park campground, but due to a big horse event at the park next door, all sites were booked. Instead, we found another campground nearby, and also not far from I-75 called Whispering Hills RV Park north of Georgetown. It offered full hookups too. It's about $32/night and a Good Sam discount if you're a member. The only issue was that it wasn't the easiest place to find. You have to get off at exit #129, go a short distance west to US25 and go north a few miles to County Road 620 and right about a half mile to the campground.

Only complaint about Kentucky Horse Park is that they only have back-in sites. If you have a TT or a fifth wheel, no problem. If you have a motor home with toad, you'll have to unhitch, then hook up again when you leave. Kinda defeats the idea of an "overnight spot". Also, if you're traveling in the fall, winter,or early spring, they cut the water off, whereas others in the area keep the water on later, or even all year.
My favorite CG in that area. Since I can unhook in less than 5-10 min. and hook up when leaving in the same time this it not an issue for me. - MichDocExplorerOnly complaint about Kentucky Horse Park is that they only have back-in sites.
