I-77 to I-26 to I-95 - Carolinas, Georgia to Florida

We've been delaying our return to Florida due to Dorian. Any concern about being able to find diesel fuel on our route tomorrow? Currently just south of Virginia line on I-77. Would like to get south of Savannah GA tomorrow. Thanks for advise from those who are on our route. We are watching the weather reports already and will continue to do so.
  • We have used that route before and will us part of it in 2 weeks. No problem with diesel. If you have a Flying J card, you get 8 cents a gallon off and many Flying J's have separate RV islands.
  • 2chiefsRus, last year we did a modified course like yours. We too I-20 west and picked up US-1, which was mostly a four lane divided highway with little traffic.
  • Original Poster here - just fyi - I-77 south traffic was so bad that we elected to head west on I-20 to US129 to pick up I-75 at Macon. Was about 75-90 miles further but it let us avoid I-26, I-95 as well as I-4 westbound. Our destination is just southwest of Orlando.

We often get off 26 at US 301 to go into Fl.

having problems finding US 301 on the map below I-16. Can you give me more information? I know where it is once I get to Florida but not sure what to take in the middle.
  • I am at Exit 45 on I-77... no problem with fuel at Exit 49 today.

Should add... NC Exit 45 (Statesville)
  • I’ve not heard of any issues getting fuel here in the Columbia SC area. Might be wise to fill up mid state. I suspect 26 to 95 will be a frigging zoo.
