I-90 to Glacier National Park West gate

I'm planning a trip this summer to Glacier. Have reservations in Coram, MT. Wondering about the road from I-90 to Coram. Mapquest and Good Sam trip planner takes me up 12 to 141 and north to hwy 200 then over to 83 then over to 93. Just wondering about the grades and curves. First time in this area. Any suggestions?

thanks for help

  • 93 off of I-90 up around the west side of Flathead Lake to Kalispell then right on 2 to West Glacier.
  • If you take the county road out of Columbia Falls to the furthest west entrance it's about 30 to 45 minutes of dirt road. So what you want is the entrance off hwy 2
  • From I-90 you could take 12 east a short distance to Avon and then 141 to 200.

Here's a YouTube of 141 and if you search there will probably be some of the other highways you're considering:

Montana Hwy 141 from Avon to Hwy 200.

You'll see it's open space and good for RVs.

When you reach Hwy 200 I'd recommend you turn west toward Ovando and go a short distance and pick up Hwy 83 which will take you right to Columbia Falls/Coram.

It's a scenic drive and we've done it a few times with our 40' motorhome.
