I-95 Exit 104 at Ruther Glen VA

The middle of Jan 2015 my wife and I will be heading to Florida towing a 26' TT and are planning of using 301 across Delaware and Maryland and connecting with I-95 south at Exit 104 at Carmel Church/Ruther Glen. Knowing that the weather there the middle of January might not be that warm we are looking into what motels are at that exit for one night with large enough parking my truck/RV? Also which ones are not so "poor" that we might object to an overnight there. Any tips would be appreciated.

    Yes, it is. Camp on

  • We stop at Exit 126 in Fredericksburg and stay at a Holiday Inn Express. They have an indoor pool, RV parking, and a 24-hour Mickey D next door if you want to leave before the hotel's free breakfast. There's also a Longhorn Steakhouse nearby or several other restaurants near the hotel. Camp on.
  • There's a campground at 89 called Americamps which is right off the exit and would accommodate your rig. Stayed there several times.
  • Go to Tripadvisor.com and use their search function for hotels by typing in the town you will be in. This will give you a list of all hotels, their ratings, their websites, and their contact info. When you call the hotel to make the reservation, confirm that the parking lot can handle the RV.
  • There is a Comfort Inn directly across from the Flying J with Bus/RV parking. Trip Advisor rates it as average. You could get gas at the Flying J and park there, then eat dinner there, then walk to the hotel if it gets cold later in the evening.

This is a truck stop exit - lots of big rig traffic here...

Shouldn't be any problem for RV... RT301 runs into RT207 at Bowling Green... Major truck route for 301 to I95... Flying-J RV friendly... Excellant food at the Flying J Travel Plaza - we go there all the time just to get out sometimes...

  • we stay on 301 to bowling green and get I95 there. many facilities at that exit
  • Not sure about that exit , but 10 miles south is the Sliding Hill road exit.... about a mile off that exit is a Courtyard by Marriott... They have a decent parking lot and they are at the edge of a mall... I have parked my trailer there before and stayed the night..
