- jrs1871ExplorerIf you are coming from Dallas traffic, Wichita and OKC will be a piece of cake. Only tricky part will be making the transition from I35/I40 to I35 in OKC. There is construction but it is on I40 west of the transition area.
- RugExplorer III-35 going north thru OK. is nice. If you are going north of Wichita. Pick up 81 just inside Kansas it runs just to the west of I-35 you can see I-35 as you drive along. Avoid the toll on I-35. 81 will run into 135 which is a nice divided road. If you are going north and east of Wichita there are several nice roads thru Kansas without going on I-35 and paying the toll.
- reddwarExplorerThe only hill on I 35 is if you are going south at turner falls but it is an easy run on I 35. Old 77 was a short pull but hard & real slow if behind a big rig. Yes I 35 is a easy run piece of cake.
If you want to miss the toll road of KS get off at Braman, OK onto US 177 it will end at South Haven but you will pick up US 81 north then east at 47th st in Wichita back north on I 135. No toll but it is slow, 1/2 mile north of OK/KS line on east side of road is sign about Hunnewell, KS there is a granite sign on steel post that is worth stopping for. Tells that the chisholm trail ended but came back to life at Hunnewell for a few years & that they took 70lb of lead out of the old 3 story hotel.
