What is the best route to travel with a 26 foot travel trailer from Boise ID to Bend, OR? Should we take Rte 20 or Rte 26? Will be sometime in mid-late May 2015. Also will need one over nite, any suggestions?

20 will be better. Some mountains from Ontario to Burns then basically flat land. 26 has the same mountains from Ontario to John Day, but from there it follows the river and another climb and decent to Prineville.Overnite? On 26 there is a state park just west of John Day.On 20 there aint much, maybe something in Burns is about all. Drive time is only about 4 hours either way, so overnight is not really necessary

US 20 is a nice two lane straight across to Bend area.

If you want scenic, I could weave you a route through south east Oregon.:) Succor Creek, Leslie Gulch, Jordan Valley, Steens Mtn, Harts Reserve, Summerlake ... Better in a pickup camper than a big RV.

There is a nice little park (Burns RV Park) just as you come into town from the east. Big grassy sites and lots of pull-throughs.
