indiana to Maine best route what to avoid
Traveling to Niagara Falls then up to Maine Bar Harbor area....would like to hear you seasoned travelers suggestions.....oh with 2 dogs.. leaving from northern Indiana. Thanks for any info you share....

As far as Indiana to Niagara Falls (NF) traveling I90 or through Canada. The CA route is about the same, except for the border, which is a question - 10 min or an hour both in and out. So I'd stay in the US.
If you don't like I80/I90 you could get off near Toledo about take 6 into Cleveland. Most is now a "super highway", but has less traffic than I80. I have traveled this route a lot as I went to college in Ft. Wayne & Angola in the late '60. Frends and family in Indiana now.
