I know all about propane consumption, been full-timing for five years and spent all but one winter in Canada. I don't care how cold some of you say it gets in Sonora at night, there's no way I'll be using my furnace that much, if at all. I have a 12V electric blanket if I need it and running the furnace for a half hour in the morning to take off the chill doesn't use up that much propane.
(This past winter, I spent two weeks in the New Orleans area. We went down below freezing about 10 of the 4 nights. The furnace never came on once.)
