I don't care how cold some of you say it gets in Sonora at night, there's no way I'll be using my furnace that much, if at all. I have a 12V electric blanket if I need it and running the furnace for a half hour in the morning to take off the chill doesn't use up that much propane.
It's not the morning that is a problem. In the morning you turn the stove on, and in a few minutes it's warm, and then sun rises and it gets warmer yet. It is late afternoon when you need a furnace. It gets cold shortly after sunset (6pm in winter) and stays cold until sunrise. In Puerto Penasco in winter expect mid-upper 40s in the night. RV stays warm for a short while after sunset, then it cools down. If you can tolerate temps that cold, then no problem.
Electric blanket can draw quite a bit of juice out of the batteries, and it won't keep the room warm in the night when you have to get out of the bed for some reason - many people do.
