Also since power is iffy down there, solar does help keep your batteries up. In the sun down there even my 150 watt unit is charging at 6 amps. The blanket is out for me, I am already running a CPAP on an inverter. I try to get far enough south cold is not an issue. I can also start my furnace remotely from alongside my bed, so its easy to do flip it on fro 15 minutes in the middle of the night.
