Info regarding bringing guns into Canada

Just from what I have read on this forum, I find that some confusion arises over the bringing in of hand guns. By reading the Govt. of Canada regs, it would appear that non prohibited hand guns can be brought in with the proper documentation. What the regulations do NOT say, but Wilber's article does say, is that there are very few instances where handguns will be allowed in, eg, documented shooting competitions.
