Iowa Hiway 59 from Shen, IA to Craig, MO

Question

Hi All,  Looking for anyone local near this route, as we are headed south to Arkansas in two weeks, and I29 from South of Omaha into MO is closed due to the recent flooding.  Google maps show I can route south on Hiway 59 out of IA into MO and re-connect to I29 at Craig, MO.  Has anyone driven this route?  If so how are the roads, and any low overpasses, or other challenges as I will be driving a 42' MH towing.  And is I29 really open at Craig, MO southbound?  Thx, Jeff

You may want to verify the status of I-29 on the MODOT  website or app.  We just came up I-29 a few days ago and it was closed just north of St Joseph.  We took 71 north to I-80 and it wasn’t as bad as I expected.

The DW read I-29 is now open in Missouri and parts of Iowa.

News just reported that all of I-29 is open between Omaha &amp; KC with some lane closures for repairs.
