Us29 is not "bad," but it not state of the3 art either. It is very rural, and expect to seen animals crossing the road. It is two lane.
There is a Panther protection zone with reduced speed, that is enforced. There is always a possibility you will see a panther crossing the road so stay alert. That is why you will see 12 foot high chain link fences in some areas.
Citrus harvest is almost over so you won't see many citrus trucks in the area. Just south of LaBelle, there is a citrus processing plant so watch for trucks there. You will see more citrus trucks out on US 29.
