Sorry you had to put up with it, I've been caught in that too. Just wanted to mention that if you had gotten on the Turnpike (just north of Clermont) and taken it to I-75 and then to Ocala, you'll find it much easier & faster. We'll be going that way too except getting off the TP at CR-470. We use CR-470 usually just for the ease & driveability.

SR-29 is two-lane, not much traffic. US-27 gets into some traffic around Sebring but not really bad; it's fine up to Lake Louisa SP and Clermont. We hit so much traffic and traffic lights on US-27 between Clermont and Ocala we put it on our "do not go" list.
