I can't speak to the 8000, but there is no fuse or circuit breaker on the 4000, so far as I can remember.

I'm guessing 4000 is 4000 VA, which makes it an almost perfect fit for a 30 amp RV.

OK, translated the Spanish and it appears that the 8000 unit is for a single 120V circuit rated at 66A. But not sure about the specs...

Nice comparison chart. However additional important electrical information would be useful. The ISB Sola 8000 rating of 8000va implies they have used 2 of the 4000 or 33A units. What happens when a 50A RV uses more than 33A on a leg? Is there a 33A CB or does it let the smoke out?

Does Mexico use 120/240V 50A outlets or do they have 120/240V 33A pedestals or something else?

I found there are three layers of boost, and one of buck. From the factory they are at 110 volts, 100 volts and 90 volts. So far I've never used more than the first 2 layers.

I love my Sola 4000. I tweaked the boost cut in voltage up to 113 which on the first layer of boost gives me 123 volts (unloaded). It cuts in fast when the air conditioner starts. I wish I had not bothered with the easy start on the roof air.

I chose to add two standard 110 volt outlets--one on the input side so I can easily monitor supply voltage. That input side allows me to use a surge suppressor in parallel before the Sola. I also added a 30 amp female plug. On the input side I hard wired a six foot cord with a male 30 amp plug.

The Sola does not "play well" with the load support feature on the Magnum inverter/charger. If I have selected that option on the Magnum remote, as soon as I add the Sola the Magnun turns on the load support.
