Heading out of Jackson Hole towards I80 East, it appears there is only one viable route which is South on 189/191 into Rock Springs, WY. Google Maps (Earth view) indicates this route will transcend some mountains. I just wanted to check on the grade etc of this route before heading out. Your wisdom and experience is appreciated.

Laundry done and heading away from WiFi service until tomorrow. We are leaving Jackson Hole Friday AM so I will check back before I leave. Thanks in advance to anyone that can provide some insight.

US 26 is steep coming out of Jackson, but is less of down grade on the east down hill side. We have done it both directions in MH. Just have to watch your speed and shift down. You would then go south and pick up I-80 at Rawlins.You do not say what your destination is.

No one in Jackson Hole knows about those roads? How did you drive into the Hole? From Yellowstone?

Your wisdom and experience is appreciated.Not sure what you are after - the reason they call it Jackson Hole is BECAUSE it is surrounded by Mountains! There is an easy way out to I-80 if you follow the Snake River Rt 26/89 - easy gentle drive along the banks of the river till you hit Alpine then take Rt 89 South to Sage then taking Rt 36 to I-80. This is as easy a drive as possible.The other route is through the mountains, which were not really that bad (I mean I love Mountain drives and this one does not stand out) so it must be "normal" so for most it should not be a problem.Hope this is of some Help,
