Thanks to all for your support. Here is an update for what it's worth.
I replied to the Qualitas e-mail saying that they already had a copy of a replacement registration send to us by our agent in Victoria. (both by e-mail and a printed copy which I handed to the adjuster in Puerto Vallarta). I also e-mailed a copy of same to the Ministerio Publico, and to both offered to have the agency e-mail one to them directly, and that there is a small possibility that we may have our copy of the original sale document from the dealer and if so, could have it couriered down via DHL. Neither have responded as yet.
I sent a copy of the agents reply to Jim Lewis by e-mail on Friday and haven't received a reply from him as yet either. In the e-mail we also included our Mexican and USA cell numbers.
For various reasons, none of which I wish to get into on a public forum, we cannot stay in Mexico any longer but have to continue on towards home. We are in San Carlos and will cross the border tomorrow.
I'll try to call Jim Lewis from the USA on Tuesday.
