On a hopefully brighter note, we went to the Ministerio here in Patzcuaro today with a friend very fluent in Spanish and I was told that they don't need any more paper, they are convinced that I held title to the truck. I'm not betting the farm on it, but I feel much better and may well sleep tonight. I have been in touch with the Canadian consulate in Guadalajara and am going to get a letter in Spanish from them that is not specific, but is designed to address these "title" question, specifically ICBC, as to what the registration comprises, including title. We'll have to overnight in Guad on the way to PV to get it, an original, with what they say are all the "bells and whistles". I may not require it, hopefully, at this point, but it couldn't hurt to have one of those in your possession in case the worst-case scenario happens, as with CR and us. The text of the Spanish letter was sent to us by the consulate for a fly-by with the Ministerio, but apparently we may not need it.I will try to post the text below, as it might be helpful to someone else.
