Planning a trip to Alaska. My truck has a small tank and big motor about 200 mile range towing. I thought of getting. Couple of jerry cans 5 gallon and mounting them in the bed for truck and generator...

We use VP Racing Cans which are plastic 5 gallon containers for transporting gas for racing. They travel in a built in retainer in the race hauler. You can no longer use portable metal cans in many places up here in the northeast to transport gasoline.
I need fuel for the generator as well. I just worry that some location will be closed or out of fuel. My concerns maybe unfounded but would rather have it then not need it then need it and not have it.
I don't believe they are legal anywhere in Canada; I do know that they can no longer be legally sold.
