Planning a trip to Alaska. My truck has a small tank and big motor about 200 mile range towing. I thought of getting. Couple of jerry cans 5 gallon and mounting them in the bed for truck and generator...

A 200 mile range should be no problem. The longest stretch is Ft St John to Watson Lake. Fuel is available at Pink Mountain, Sasquatch Crossing, Ft Nelson, Toad River, Contact Creek, Teslin Yukon Motel, Whitehorse, Otter Falls Cutoff, Beaver Creek, Border City and Tok. Others may also be available, but I have noticed some places come and go.
If you plan on using a ferry anywhere, you may have your cans removed as a prohibited item. If you plan to do the Cassiar you may want to get a can for that portion of the trip.
