My winter visior neighbor is a retired Canada Cuustoms/Immigration agent. We have been visiting Canada ( original Canadian)regularly since 1957. I always have a current "Canadian" card on board and have NEVER been asked for it! BUT when asked my neighbor said yes - it is not a Border Agent's job BUT - if you ever have an accident - even a fender bender, or even a traffic violation the law enforcement person WILL ask for it to prove that your policy is current AND the company will honor it in Canada!
Do NOT leave home without it!!
