Killarney site size

For Killarney Provincial Park in Ontario, the reservation web site lists almost all the sites as "trailer up to 18 feet". Mine is 20. Are the sites really too small for a 20 ft? How strongly do they enforce this size limit?

There don't seem to be any other campgrounds anywhere close to there.
  • Earlier, I asked about the size of the "up to 18 ft" sites at Killarney. Now that I have been there, I'll report on the sites. The campground wasn't very full the June 3 weekend, so I didn't need to worry. However, of the "medium" size (up to 18 ft) sites, there were some my 20ft trailer would fit into, some it would not, and some that it would fit into but the maneuvering to get into it would be a challenge.

Many of the sites are down dead ends, not loops, with not much turn around, so cruising through camp looking for a site would not have been fun.

The recommended "old school bus" fish shop is closed for remodeling. They are moving into a real building, and a rather large one. They hope to be in by July, but they have a long way to go. I think that Killarney is slowly getting yuppified.
  • Don't worry about it, the site measurements aren't that precise - an extra 2' certainly isn't going to leave your trailer sticking out onto the road. Also, on 99% of sites, parking for your TV is on the same pad, so there's almost always lots of room. If you do happen on the 1%, you should be able to angle your TV slightly so that everything fits, or - absolute worse case scenario (which I honestly can't imagine happening) - you can just park your TV in the overflow lot.

Now, I wouldn't recommend trying to squeeze a 30' trailer on an 18' site without foreknowledge of the specific site... but you'll be just fine.
