La Crosse, WI to Rapid City, SD

We are driving from Chicago to Rapid City, SD leaving on 7/21. First day of driving will be Chicago to Sioux Falls, SD. Day two will be Sioux Falls, SD to Rapid City, SD. Is there anything worthwhile stopping on the way that doesn't take too long to stop and see?

I won't be stopping in WI since we've been there many times.

We aren't taking the camper. Decided to stay in hotels.

    as long as you are stopping in SF, the falls would be worth seeing. also the zoo and museum which has a large collection of animals that were hunted by one man.

    There's a rest stop and L&C history display where I90 crosses the Missouri River.

    Definitely do the Badlands loop - should take an extra hour or so if you stop for photos. Hope your car's a/c is working!
