Lake Crystal, MN to Niagara Falls, ON

We are looking for suggestions re this route. We have plenty of time and don't want to go around Chicago. We'd like to head north to north east. Any suggestions for interesting stops, campgrounds or routes? We are not in a hurry and enjoy dry camping.

  • Thank you...We are on the route suggested now. Leaving Soo tomorrow.
  • I would consider going across the Michigan UP to Sault Ste Marie and cross into Canada there. You can then take the TransCanada 17, to 69 to 400 to Toronto and on to Niagara Falls. While in Ontario, consider 3 possible stops, in all 3 cases they are a little off the route but well worth the detour. The first is a little north of Sault Ste Marie, Lake Superior Provincial Park. Also Killarney Provincial Park, and Algonquin Provincial Park on the way to Toronto.
