From Las Vegas, take I-15 over past Barstow and Victorville.
Continue on south past Victorville for about another 20 miles.
You will come to a long down hill grade. The Cajon Pass.
Near the bottom you want to stay on I-15 to the right. (Don't be tempted to take the 215 down through San Bernardino.)
Stay on 15 on south down through Temecula and Escondido.
When you get into the San Diego area take the 163 split on your right. This will be at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar - - just past Miramar Road.
After a mile or so take the 52 west. Stay on the 52 west for a little over 3 miles to I-5 south.
Two miles down I-5 south take the exit ramp (right lane) onto Mission Bay Drive.
Continue straight down Mission Bay Drive for 1 mile and make a right turn and then an immediate 90 degree double back into the campground area.
(If you don't make that right turn you will be forced back out onto I-5.)
