I get my TIP for the pickup on line and last year I got a piece of paper that said to show it to Immigration. I tried to show it to them at KM 21 in Nogales and he didn't even want to see it. I can't see how your TIP can be tied to your FMM. I had to leave several years ago and I flew out and back to Puerto Vallarta, no problem.
