I think we are getting a little over the top on this discussion. I believe it is quite common for people to leave the country on a short term basis. As long as you have documents in hand, I think there is common sense involved to understand the issue, especially if a spouse is remaining in the country with the said RV.
Forty odd years ago, in our hippy days, we left our vehicle in a gov't compound yard in Merida. We flew to Jamaica for a two week trip.........and upon our return we found our vehicle with stickers across the doors, all broken. When we got to the RV park after picking it up, all we noticed was that it was infested with cockroaches...nothing was taken! but that was in the day that every visa was written with "con automovil" on the visa and you had to get gov't papers to exit the country
