My wife often has to fly home, so we just make sure the vehicle is not in her name. Possibly in an emergency you could get away with it if you explained. Since they have let you on the plane the chances of being caught are slim. We would like to consider leaving out trailer in Mexico, but do not necessarily want to drive the truck down each year. I am considering selling it to my brother in law in PV for a dollar and having it nationalized so I can fly down & use it. once again though I do not know if driving a Mexican plated truck without permanent resident status would be an issue.
