Over the years I have had 3 claims with Lewis and Lewis. One was a windshield claim and although it took 6 months Jim Lewis intervened and all was good. One was a mirror that got clipped and I replaced it myself and submitted the claim. Qualitas did a wire transfer to my Canadian bank. Many travelers do not understand that until recently consumer rights in Mexico were almost non existent. Lots of laws but none were applied. The first thing that happens in Mexico when you have any kind of claim ( insurance, warranty, etc.) is you are told that you do not have coverage. Or you have to submit a claim to some office in Mexico City. Just like Aduana they will try to wear you down and give up. This has changed in the last few years but still there can be problems. Stand your ground!
