Lewiston ID to Alberta with oversize load

In light of frequent questions about taking large RVs along highways like US12 (Lolo Pass), MT200 (Rogers Pass), and US89, I thought this article would be interesting. It's about the transportation of a 20 ft high, 20ft wide load of refinery equipment - a load that is TOO TALL for freeways.

"Now in Montana, the load is expected to travel through Missoula, cross Roger's Pass on to Montana Highway 200 then head north through the cities of Choteau and Cut Bank. It's slated to enter Canada at the Port of Sweetgrass."

  • I remember seeing it on the news about all the tree huggers trying to keep them from getting their permit to use 12 out of Lewiston. They were trying to say it would destroy the highway and the peace and tranquility ?of the area. If that load will help bring my fuel costs down I'm all for it.
It does look as if they got their permit if they got over the pass.
