This is polled regularly. The majority (more than 80 percent) of Canadians want the land border kept closed. The premiers and prime minister are respecting the wishes of the citizens and taking appropriate action.
Air travel is currently unrestricted out of the country but one must self isolate upon returning. If someone needs to leave the country they can. They just have to a fly.
Gary thank you for your informative link.
Cheers.
That's because 80% of Canadians never venture outside their neighborhoods, let alone across the border, so it doesn't matter to them. Try polling the people that actually cross the border, those that live in border towns and cities, and regularly cross it, and see if your numbers hold up. Do they poll snowbirds, I wonder? - This is polled regularly. The majority (more than 80 percent) of Canadians want the land border kept closed. Val, who could be happy the border is closed? Certainly not me! But if it helps contain the virus, I support it.
You may and that is your right.
All I'm saying is our Canadian friends don't support it.
I, for one, don't like the border closed. As this whole mess unfolded, many of us Canucks began to realize it's not so much about public safety as it is about people control and government over reach/power. The sad part is we're really powerless to do much about it, without punitive retaliation by those that are supposed to serve us. They prefer it when it's the other way around. IMHO, of course.
re: CBC's veracity. I guess some of you forgot the $600M "Canadian Journlism Support Fund" Trudeau bought them with in 2018? They were bought and paid for 2 years ago, not that it mattered. The were already pro-Liberal, and have been for decades. There are very few right wing anchors or commentators. Again, IMHO, of course.
Many articles question that move, but it's still there, none of the MSM turned it down or said, "no we couldn't accept that and maintain our indepndence and journaitic integrity at the same time". They all bellied up to the Liberal's gravy train trough.

Are you joking? (I hope so).
CBC is pretty good at sticking to the truth. Indications of that are, they have been described as pro conservative, pro liberal, pro abortion, anti abortion, pro party in power, and pro opposition, in the same week. - MDKMDKExplorerIt's the CBC, so it's got to be suspect.

Gary - MDKMDKExplorerYou can't live in a bubble forever. Sooner or later you have to emerge, and you will be exposed, of that there can be no doubt. It's not possible to avoid that reality, so you're just delaying the inevitable. Your personal health status when you are exposed, will determine your outcome. It's that simple.
Good luck with it, when you do get exposed.
God bless.
