Lukeville Crossing

Have never before crossed into Mx. at Lukeville so would like to know where we get our tourist visas and also sticker for pickup as we are heading to Mazatlan. Also any info on road conditions would be helpful. Irl
  • Until this year, this has always been our crossing. We got tired of the picky stuff-dog and cat papers, meat in the fridge, and finally entered at Nogales this year.

You get ALL of your paperwork at the big, beautiful immigration station just past Caborca. Great parking, nicely set up. We exited there in April, and will again this next spring. The roads were great. Except for the fact that they can be so stinky about pets and what's in your fridge, it's a great place to enter. To add insult to injury, the year they tried really hard to take our cooked meat and cheeses, they gave us a brochure that translated as, "It's not the law, it's for the good of Mexico."

Best place to exit in our book.
  • Believe the TIP location from Lukeville was changed, to be near Caborca. But we haven't been that way in a long while. FMM at the border (Sonoyta) yes. Someone else chime in here.

You will get your personal visa just to the right as you cross the border, you may find it easier to leave your rig on the US side and walk into Mexico for that as there is limited parking at this port of entry. You can't get you TIP for your rig there, it is about 20 miles to the east on highway 2 where you get your TIP. You ca't miss the place because you can't go any further without the inspection. I hope this helps.
