These are the only two Canadian Provinces that we have not visited, so we are headed there this Summer. We have ordered the travel guides and are planning on visiting some friends that live in Winnipeg that we met while campground hosting in Georgia last year.Just wanted to ask what are some of your favorite places to visit in these two provinces. We love history, short hikes, a little biking, and geocaching. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Go to the zoo in Winnipeg, the RCMP Barracks in Regina SK, the underground places in downtown Moosejaw SK, and the Peace Gardens on the MB/ND border. Both provinces have good parks. In downtown Winnipeg there is a great park featuring the rendevoux (sp?) location at the confluence of several rivers where the trappers and First Nations people traded back in the 1800's

When you get all the info. from both Provinces and start reading you will be amazed at the history and things to do.I will not even attempt to start a list for you.If you love fishing and lakes the area can't be beat .Sask. my home Province has over 10,000 lakes alone,plus a never ending prairie and is called the Big sky country.You will not meet better people in both Provinces and Manitoba skeeters are 737 size compared to Saskatchewan CF18's.But at that time of the year they aren't a problem.We welcome all our neighbors to the south,best friends we can have.

Thanks in advance.When in Saskatcewan, head up to Waskesiu which is in the provincial park outside of Prince Albert. It is really nice there, do a google search and the RV park is close to town within walking distance. Lots to see and do, around there.Lynn

If you are in Saskatoon check out the Western Development Museum . The Gordon Howe Campground right in town is a very nice spot to stay, close to everything and nice and quiet.

When in Winnipeg, take the tour of the Canadian Mint. If you rv, the best place to stay in Winnipeg (my opinion) is Arrowhead in Illes des chenes south of town. Prairie Oasis RV in Moose Jaw, SK. Suggestions of previous poster are good.

Just joshin' you, Harvey51. Used to live in Manitoba: saw snow in every month of the year, even July (not that it stayed!).

When in Winnipeg Bird's Hill Provincial Park is a gem and only 20 minutes from the Peg. Great place to camp. You won't be sorry.

If you want something really different, book a trip to Churchill and view the polar bears at Hudson Bay. You would park the RV in Winnipeg or Thompson (which is halfway between Churchill and Winnipeg), and stay in an inn at Churchill. The tour would let you visit country and see things that aren't possible in an RV as it's fairly remote. You would need to get information from Manitoba tourism folks on what the trip would entail. I agree that the Arrowhead RV park just a little south of Winnipeg is a great place to stay while you do all the stuff in town.

While you are visiting friends in Winnipeg, visit Lower Fort Garry, The Forks, and don't miss the Human Rights Museum. Fantastic architecture as well as world wide human rights history. Numerous other things, Zoo etc. but I'm sure your friends will direct you to their suggestions.

Cypress Hills in Saskatchewan is definately a must see! One of my favourite places in the world.
