mapping software

My Microsoft Sreets and Trips is aging out, and new not sold anymore. Looking for advice on trip planning soft ware that is not internet dependent ( Streets and Trips will work with no internet).

Thanks any info.

  • Delorme street atlas is for you.
or the delorme topo maps if you want elevations and grades as well
  • Maybe its time to go back to the old standby, the Rand McNally road atlas.
  • I wish I had a good answer to your question, but I am afraid this is another instance of everything going to the internet or "the cloud."

I am still using the 2010 version of "Trailer Life Navigator." I have the 2013 version which was produced by Undertow Software without the cooperation or partnership with Trailer Life. It is not nearly so useful. Unfortunately, these programs are becoming more outdated as far as campground information each year. Still, this is by far the best program I have for trip planning.

I have corresponded with Trailer Life about this, but there seems to be no willingness to produce a new program which would work like these above do.

The great value of such a program on one's own desktop computer is in long range trip planning. I have not found any of the "on line" programs to be nearly as helpful.

I wish I had a better response to your question. Perhaps someone else will. But I have to say that all of the suggestions made in many such posts on this forum have not proven to meet my needs.
