- Jerry_CampbellExplorerNorth of El Tecuan is Arroyo Seco. South of El Tecuan is the boca from Rebalsito and Mosca's restaurant. It would be quite a ways to walk from the boca past El Tecuan to Arroyo Seco. A few miles anyway.
- sparksmexExplorerArroyo Seco is north and it's the beach with all the houses on it. You used to be able to drive to the "river mouth" but it's fenced off by the last house/motel. About a 1/4 mile walk. In the dry season the river/lagoon doesn't join the ocean on the north or south access so you don't have to walk thru. It's real shallow anyway
The south access is from Playa la Boca you get from Rebalsito/Tenacatita. There's only a few palapa restaurants there. Probably could over night - Duke-44Explorer

Actually, I just found it on google earth, it is Playa El Tecuan. There was a guard on the road, but he let us through with a smile. We had already tried the road with the whole platoon of Mexican Federals guarding it.
Tenacatita is now open but police are still there. Only for day camping.
El Tecuan has been closed but you can walk in from the beaches north and south of it
What is the town or barrio on the north of El Tecuan. Are there crocs or alligators in the lagoon? - sparksmexExplorer

- Duke-44ExplorerWe loved the little town of La Manzanilla. I did see the hotel ruin there it looked as some one was starting to work on it while we were there in April of 2010. Has it been reopened?
- robatthelakeExplorerGlad You cleared that up!
There are so many abandoned Hotels and Condominium developments along the Western Coast of Mexico ,it is a little hard to keep them clearly in minds eye!
The Condos at Chamela were finally knocked down a couple of Years ago. The Beautiful Little Beach there was called Playa Negritos. The entire area is Cerrado and behind a guarded Gate!
El Tecaun is still a crumbling mess.there was a gorgeous Hotel and several Elegant Houses along with the Twin Runway Airport which also serviced Nearby Tenacatita!
The Hotel Ruins at Boca Beach are still crumbling into itself!
There are ruins of Hotels in Melaque and Bara de Navidad that never seem to change.
Even the once Uber Expensive Tamarindo is Rotting away in the Jungle between Melaque and La Manzanilla. Clearly no longer one of Robin Leaches Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous haunts!
I'm sure that after thi latest Hurricane there will be more derelict buildings in the Los Cabos area of Baja! - Duke-44ExplorerActually, I just found it on google earth, it is Playa El Tecuan. This was in March of 2011. We turned it into a nude beach, as there was no one but us. - TequilaExplorerI figured maybe he was referring that one. It was a great place to camp.
- Bounder_LewExplorerThe barren beach, just south of the Perula turnoff is called Chamala, and has been blocked off by security people. Yes it was a lovely secluded place enjoyed mainly by weekend nationals and the odd RV er who wanted to get off the grid.
