Your bill does not represent what a large house or a commercial property pays. the rates are set so that small users pay very little. Our house in the winter is about $180 dollars for 2 months! In 20 years I have never had a bill for 260 pesos. Do you use electric heat or AC? Do you have an electric fridge. My rates are meaningless as are yours. The discussion is about a trailer park who pays about 3 or 4 pesos a KWH!!! Not less than a peso! $2.00 a day for power is cheap. Mexico has another rate kicker. If you go over a certain amount of usage not only do you go to a higher rate category that high rate remains for about 12 months! Mexico Wanderer can give you the accurate rates. El Poso in Patzcuaro has the right idea. Each site has a 15 amp breaker. That limits your power usage.
