In my search for Mexican insurance I clicked a link that was on my current insurers web site (Esurance) which put me in touch with their "Sister" company as I was told.
They were very helpful and gave me a price of $565 for full coverage on my vehicles. They disclosed to me the name of the final insurer in Mexico and explained the basics of the policy.
But it is obvious that the huge discrepancy in costs are directly related to Broker Markup not actual Mexican policy differences.
Has anyone ever tried to buy directly from the company in Mexico? And bypass the brokers? It seems the brokers exist mainly as a go between for convenience sake and to bridge the language gap. I have purchased auto insurance in other countries in the past (where brokers just dont exist) and found the process fairly easy and straightforward.
Thoughts?
