This goes beyond it not being possible. Why would anyone want to "cut" out the middle man. Would you try and buy a car directly from Mopar? Do you buy your beer directly from Budweiser? Besides if you deal with a good broker they can give knowledgeable advice on coverage and often can help when you have a claim. Sometimes one can be too thrifty. Why try and take the food out of the mouth of a salesman?
First of all I bet that you buy your Canadian Insurance DIRECTLY from the insurer be it Progressive or whoever...NOT through a "BROKER".
Second, Common sense dictates that if the Mexican Insurance company El Aguila sells these "temporary" policies to the brokers for re-sale to us Yanks then there is a chance they will sell it directly also.
If the policy can be sold to vehicles with US Plates coming across the border I see no reason that it MAY also be possible to contact the insurer directly to buy one.
The question is NOT "Why take food from the salesmans mouth" The question is Why pay more than necessary?
Again Mr. Moisheh my question stands as I asked it. I would appreciate to find out if anyone has actually done it.
