I think you are partly right in this. There may be a legal wrinkle but I am betting not.
Since I can read and speak decent Spanish the language barrier isnt so much a hurdle for me. I think when I am down there this time I may drop in on a few insurance companies and ask this question.
The Real issue may be that these policies guarantee export of the vehicle in case of accident or totalling it so it cant be re-sold in Mexico. But that would be part of the same policy if bought in Mexico.
One thing I know for sure. If you dont ask the question you never get the answer...and brokers may work well for some...or many, but I need to see some real value to go with the markup. And for me that would have to be more than language convenience.
