Mexican Luxury Lemonade
This isn't from La Abuela's kitchen...
It is a newfangled recipe (receta)...
But the taste is outrageous as proven by comments from folks who drink it.
Needed
Mexican limones. Heavy YELLOW limones are mature and taste better.
A hand limon squeezer
An "endulzante (sweetener)" like LA MADRILENA (Mexico) or KARO SYRUP.
Carnonated water. Like Penafiel, or club soda.
Ice cubes
==================================================================================================================================
16 oz mug An even bigher mug (called a TARO in Mexico)
Squeeze five medium linones into the mug
Fill mug with club soda
Bit by bit add syrup to just take the sharper tang off the limon. I prefer lots and lots of limon -- maybe seven or eight. It means adding more syrup to achieve the same taste. Good lip pucker power helps relieve thirst.
Don't be afraid to make the drink strong then temper with extra sweetener. This ain't Kool Aid for a ten-yer-old.
Bitter bitter cold meaning freezer chilling of the ingredients makes the limonaide outrageous. Will burn the back of the throat going down.
Danged near ecstasy in hot weather.
