Every Year about this time We get to thinking and Planning Our Winter Trip down the scenic West Coast of Mexico!

We usually take along at least One New Couple to experience and enjoy the many great things that Mexico has to offer to RV ers!

We are not interested in any kind of Formal arrangement ,nor are We tour Guides, just a Canadian Couple who happen to Love to show others Our. Favorite places enroute to what is the Nicest Beach in all of Mexico!

Interested in expanding Your horizons ?

Last time I talked to Barb and Sal they indicated that They were not going to be running the Old Park and did not know what the new owner had planned for it!

We certainly would appreciate hearing about the new Durango route!

You can PM Me or send Me an email!

PM me your email and I will give you all the info
  • Sal's cousin Chema has opened up 10 full hookup sites (30amp) closer to town (Valle de Juarez) behind his restaurant.

We will pass through there on our way to the beach. Valle de Juarez and Mazamitla are great spots to hang out.

  • I should run into Rob. We should be crossing around the same time. Have you spoken to Barb, are they still managing the old campground. I obviously will head to the one at the restaurant if not.

I may be down earlier as I have been asked to wagon master a small commercial caravan in Fall if there are enough people. It will be a route setting exercise for a larger Spring caravan. The new Mazatlan Durango cuota has opened up new possibilities. Worth taking as a route one way or the other. I can give you details on where to camp if you want to try it, or I will likely go back that route in mid to late April if you want to connect up.
  • You're going to have a fun trip, amigo! :)

If you pass through Las Peñas, which is 20 KM north of the junction on Mex 200 to Playa Azul let me know PM. Best danged seafood on the coast, great secure RV parking. Palm frond beach restaurant. My kids. Parking is 200 meters off Mex 200 and Las Peñas has had ZERO problems - ever.
  • We've never "rved" the west coast beaches. We may do that this winter. Not sure yet where we'll go. I wish we had more time, we would like to travel all of the peninsula.
  • That itinerary sounds pretty much like the one Kevin and Jeanne (and Hugo) did in their outstanding DVD "RVing in Mexico". That DVD is a great preview of that journey. I've almost worn my copy out watching it.

Found it on Amazon CLICKY Kevin drops by here now and then and maybe he can comment on where else to get it these days.
  • Ok so there is some interest in knowing the Destination and Route.

First We are not a Tour Company or running any sort of Caravan.

Our Main destination is to Boca de Iguana Beach which is about 200 Km South of Puerto Vallarta.

To get there We May or May Not Visit the Following places in Mexico! I say this because there are interesting places that appeal to some folks ,but not others. As well there are places that work well time and weather wise going South and others that work better on the return North.

So in no particular order here are some of the places that We will be visiting this Winter!

We will enter Mexico at Nogales Arizona!

    There is Kino Bay...San Carlos/Guaymas ...Los Alamos...Huatobampito...Celistino...Mazatlan...Teacapan ...Guadalahara ...Chacala ..La Penita/Rincon de Guabitos...Puerto Vallarta...Boca de Iguana/La Manzanilla...Melaque/ Bara de Navidad...Manzanillo ...Colima ..Camala..Mazamitla ..Valle de Juarez.. Punta Perula..Bara de Potosi..Zihuatenajo ...Playa Azul..Villa Corona..Lake Chapala...Angangua..Urapan ..Patzquaro!

Many of these places have RV Parks, Some are Day Trip Destinations ,which might be considered .by some and not by others!

Information on All these places is readily available rom other sources. We don't profess to be experts and certainly are not operating a tour.

We will be heading down in Early January and will welcome anyone who would like to travel in a non structured group.

We expect to enter at Nogales around the 4 Th of January!...nothing is written in stone!

The other thing is We don't run Nose to Tail. We agree to meet at a certain place for Lunch or To Camp for the night! We don't hold Your Hand nor do We expect You to follow the leader. Sometimes personalities clash and sometimes lasting friendships are formed.

You will be on Your own Financially and if You have mechanical trouble We can't do much more than try to find You help!
  • We've been thinking about heading down this winter. Knowing the route and departure date would help.

    Thanks
  • Rob, a teeny suggestion...

It would perhaps help if you rough drafted the route. Where does your journey end?
