We do the same as briansue, but Telcel had a plan last year if you put 200 pesos every 6 weeks or so (never did figure that part out) that let us call Canada for 5 minutes for 1.98 pesos/min. After the 5 minutes, the rate went up, but not substantially, in fact no where near 38 cents/min. I think it was called "Amigo" plan and gave us 3 free numbers in Mexico. Plus, I got a free T-shirt !
