It's probably too late to help the OP, but if you take I-65 south about 3-4 miles from I-64 you'll get to the Kentucky Convention Center and the old Six Flags amusement park. On the south lot there is camping available. It's just a glorified parking lot, but it has FHU spots.
I saw recently that the amusement is being rehabbed and will re-open, so I don't know how long the sites will be there. We've used them when attending the RVIA dealer show at the convention center. You'll get some noise from the airport around 2-4 a.m. when the UPS fleet is coming and going, but otherwise it's OK.
