Mobile, Ala. I-10 west,165 to Rt.45 to Waynesboro, Miss.???

We Will be heading west on I-10 into Mobile ,Ala. heading to Waynesboro, Miss. My old map shows a blank, 1'4 mile spot in downtown Mobile indicating that I-10 doesn't connect to 165 north??? I can't believe it. LOL. We Had planned to get onto 165 up to I-65 and take the 1st major road over to Rt.45 up to Waynesboro. Don't want to drive my 34' Class'A' with TOAD thru downtown Mobile streets. Am I going to have to go to South west Mobile and up I-65 north? :S

    I like this route and have used it a number of times.

    From I-10 take exit 27 HWY-90 to I-165 (good 4-lane with very little traffic) to I-65 and then Exit 13 Hwy 158 to HWY-45. The alternate route with lots more traffic is I-10 to I-65.

    I 10 DOES connect to I 65 at a major intersection.
    After the tunnel coming into Mobile, continue west on
    I 10 for several miles, to right turn lanes to go
    north on I 65. (The previous reply was meant to
    have you take a shorter route. I am not familiar
    with that route.)

    there is a truck route at exit 27 after you cross the bridge and before the tunnel. At the end of the exit, bear right onto US90-98 TRUCK. Do not continue straight onto US98 as there is a tunnel there that won't work. US 90/98 truck route will take you to I-165N, then to I-65 north. The other option you already have. I-10 to I-65. I think it's only about 10 miles farther and may even be faster depending on traffic.
