The $70 entrance fee/vehicle is PROPOSED It has not been implemented. Public comment was open to the public up until late December 2017 (the article states November; it was extended due to huge public response). If approved, the $70 fee would be from May through October.

Found this to help out some families for a year - Details about the Every Kid in a Park Annual 4th Grade Pass
IMHO the Fee might be needed to curb the traffic, BUT we need to allow our kids and Grandkids to be able to see and Enjoy the parks.

Not to start a debate on this subject "Use and Access to the National Parks" Really hard to enjoy if the fees are too HIGH, and you can only enjoy Pictures.
BUT
An increase in fees is just like a lock on the gate. As I'm old and have the Geezer Pass so it Only affects the Grands. NOT RIGHT.
