Mexicowander: Your posts and this thread will do more to kill Mexico tourism than anything I have ever read. Do you think a newby reading this gibberish will be all excited about his upcoming adventure. Of course car theft is common in the USA but how many people have all these devices. All the comments on rotten lazy cops may be true but do we have to emphasize all this bad stuff? Tequila is also a Mexico travel writer but just reread some of his posts in the last year. Always emphasizing the negative: anti hijacking devices, auto tracing equipment. Even removing your camper jacks so they won't steal the truck. Who wrote that you should not wash your truck? My advice to any newby: If you have to do all of the above to visit Mexico you are better off staying home. Auto theft and kidnappings are really on the rise in Mexico. The cartels are involved as it is getting hard to make $$ in the drug game. Like any good CEO they are diversifying. And yes the car thief might be carrying an auto weapon!
