My anti hijack device was installed today

Cost me $500 installed. It activates when I start the ignition or if the door is opened with the truck running. If i do not press a hidden button, the truck will start to shut down after 3 minutes. It give some warning with the horn, but I had switch installed so i can turn that off, which I will do if a hijacking appears imminent. i have a second button that has to be held down for the disable button to work, so if they suspect there is an anti hijack device, finding the disable button will not help them.

    I've been on this forum for long time, and I've read a couple of stories about folks getting their rigs hijacked in Mexico. Fortunately, they rarely result in violent outcomes for the RV owners. I think the 3 minute delay is brilliant, and will give you time to get out of harm's way. And it will also likely result in the recovery of your rig.

    Let's hope that you never have to use the "button", but it's nice to know that you have it. Safe travels my friend.

    If they want my vehicle that bad, they can have it.
    I'd rather they take it and go. Way better than shutting down, so we could all stand around shooting the breeze while waiting on GSERS to show up :).
    That is why I have insurance.

    well if they do take it I will make myself scarce. 3 minutes before it shuts down, another 3 min for them to figure it out and 3 min to get back. that gives me 10 min to disappear. My wife carries an extra key down her pants.

    If it is taken I intend to tell them it has electrical issues, so hopefully they will not suspect anyway.

    Ask Ron & Vicky what a hassle it is if you can't recover it.

    IF I were to be car jacked I want them to drive away happy......not ticked off stranded and right were I still am within reach.

    They want..they can have it......it is just stuff after all.

    Let's just hope you're not hijacked - that usually doesn't end well for the victim. I'd almost rather they take my rig and leave me on the side of the road - alive. If the hijack isn't successful, they may take it out on you. Some terrible things going on down there.
