What a freakin' bummer. Small consolation but the Embassy is gigantic and good things will happen there in minutes that would take a consulate days to do.
Your use of the words "Broken In To"...?
Does that mean there was no one there when it occurred? Hopefully the answer is yes. This smacks of "set-up" and there is little anyone can do about it on a temporary stay.
I say I am going to arrive on Saturday which really means Tuesday, and leave on a Thursday which means Monday. Mexican thieves nearly always case their plans to the hilt.
I am relieved to hear no one was physically hurt. Computers and passports can be replaced.
