need help in borrego springs area

we are going to borrego springs tomorrow, leaving from Phoenix. We have a 42' mh and the campground suggested I-10 to 78W to S2.
does anyone know this area?

i remember driving to Julian years ago and the roads were hilly, narrow and winding....

if you have knowledge of this area, please let me know if this is the best route.

thanks
  • Can't help with roads but we were there (Anza-Borrego Springs) @5 or so years ago. Great spot for Boondocking. They have sculptures in the desert that are pretty amazing.
  • thanks, everyone. the cg hostess said to take 10 to 78...it's a bit shorter, but i think i'll go to 86...thanks for your help

From I-10 you can take 86 south and 78 west or 86 south and S22 west.

You won't be going as far as Julian.

We've done both. Have a good trip!

    X2

S22 is also called the Borrego Salton Seaway. Pretty much a straight shot to Borrego Springs.

West on I-10 to Hwy. 86 then south on 86 to the Anza Borrago turn off, then go west for about 20 miles to Anza Borrago.
