Need Route Advice Please ...

I have a 1998 Bounder 35U and a 2003 Saturn TOAD.

I wish to plan a trip from S.C. to Cincinnati, Ohio , but want to avoid the JELICO MOUNTAIN portion, the 50 mile strip of I-75 N. from Knoxville that leads into Kentucky.

I do not wish to put THAT much strain on on 1998 either going UP that severe incline ... or the braking challenges coming DOWN.

Does any have personal knowledge of another way that offers a less

" DRAMATIC " route ?

Something less steep.

Thank You ... Richard
  • You can pick up US 25E either off of I 40 at Newport TN or run on up I 40 to I 81 to get on south of Morristown. 25E will take you thru the tunnel at Cumberland Gap in Middlesboro and then on to I75 at Corbin KY. I use this route to go to Piegon Forge to avoid Jellico Mt and Knoxville in my class c. Good rode with some 4 lanes. Only one mountain, Clinch I believe, but the grade and length is nothing like Jellico.
